My stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina was quite a mixed bag. I loved the hotel’s prime location near the Gaslamp Quarter, which made exploring the area super convenient. However, I was disappointed with the housekeeping, as there were cleanliness issues that detracted from the experience. Overall, the hotel has great amenities, but service inconsistencies kept it from being really good.

Rooms
6.0
While the room layout was fairly standard, the bed was comfortable and the amenities were adequate. However, I did find some cleanliness issues, like ear plugs left under the bed, which made me question the thoroughness of the housekeeping.
Service
6.0
The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, but my experience with room service was disappointing. The quality of food wasn't great, and I felt there was a lack of attentiveness regarding housekeeping.
Location
8.0
The location of the hotel is fantastic! It's adjacent to the harbor and within walking distance to plenty of attractions, including Seaport Village, which made it easy to explore the city's dining and shopping options.
Dining
6.0
I had a decent meal at the Main Kitchen restaurant, but overall, I found the food quality to be inconsistent and quite pricey for what it offered. Some dining options were better than others, and I wish there had been more reliable choices.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was large and inviting, but there were issues with room facilities like the shower drain causing odors. The gym was well-equipped, and there were nice spaces for meetings and relaxation, but maintenance could improve.

I had a solid experience at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, particularly enjoying the beautiful marina views and the convenient access to local attractions. The location is great, just a short walk to the Gaslamp District. However, the check-in process was a bit slow and dealing with the crowded elevators was frustrating.

Rooms
8.0
The room I stayed in had a spacious bathroom with a huge shower, but overall it felt a bit tired. Though I appreciated the comfortable bed, I wished the decor was more modern.
Service
7.0
While check-in was prompt, I did find that the staff could be a bit more attentive. One occasion, housekeeping didn't leave enough toiletries for two people during my stay.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location is fantastic. Being right by the marina allowed for lovely morning jogs on the boardwalk, and I was close to many attractions.
Dining
8.0
Dining at the Marina Kitchen was enjoyable, with a variety of good food options, including breakfast offerings that were delicious. However, I feel some drinks at breakfast should have been included.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel has really nice pool amenities and well-maintained facilities. However, the elevator situation could use some improvement as I faced long wait times during peak hours.

6.8/10

My stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina was a mixed experience. While the location near the Gaslamp District and the beautiful bay view were highlights, the room itself felt outdated and lacked basic amenities. Service was friendly, but the limited dining options and some noise issues at night detracted from my overall comfort.

Rooms
5.0
The room was quite small and dated, with a view of a rusty roof. It had minimal furnishings and no bottled water, which was disappointing. The bathroom was cramped and only had a stand-up shower.
Service
7.0
The staff was consistently friendly and professional. They were attentive but could have enhanced the experience with better room service offerings.
Location
9.0
The hotel is perfectly situated just minutes from the harbor and the bustling Gaslamp District. It made exploring the area incredibly easy, with Seaport Village and local attractions within walking distance.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were somewhat limited, especially for room service. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast experience, as it felt more like takeout than an in-room dining treat.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were well-maintained and the pool area looked inviting. However, the noise from outside and other guests at night was a downside during my stay.

I had an enjoyable stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, particularly appreciating the views of the marina and the vibrant atmosphere around the pool. However, I found some aspects a bit off-putting, like the additional resort fees and the dated feel of the rooms. Overall, it was a solid choice for my trip with a blend of comfort and amenities.

Rooms
7.0
My corner room had a lovely small balcony with views of the marina. The room was comfortable, with a king bed and ample space for work. Although clean, I felt the decor was a bit dated and could use a refresh.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and attentive, especially at check-in, where the process was quick. However, I noticed some limitations with staff flexibility when addressing minor issues.
Location
9.0
This hotel is located perfectly near downtown, making it easy to access restaurants and attractions like the Gaslamp District and Seaport Village. It also offers a fantastic marina view which I enjoyed.
Dining
7.0
The on-site dining options were decent, with a good variety but higher prices than I expected. I appreciated having a Starbucks available for quick coffee runs, but I did wish for more local eateries nearby.
Facilities
8.0
I loved the pool area which was beautifully maintained and offered a relaxing escape. The gym was well-equipped with live classes, which added value to my stay. However, I found the daily resort fee a bit steep for what was included.

I had a mixed experience at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Seaport Village and the Gaslamp District. and the views of the bay from my room were lovely. However, some significant issues marred my stay, including long wait times for check-in during a conference and unexpected extra charges. Overall, while it has great potential, there are definitely areas that need improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The bay view room was wonderful and spacious, but I reserved a room with a sofa bed that wasn't provided. Instead, I had to pay extra for a rollaway bed.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly and willing to help, which was appreciated, but the delays at check-in during peak times were frustrating.
Location
10.0
The hotel's prime location near key attractions like the Convention Center made exploring San Diego easy and enjoyable.
Dining
6.0
While I enjoyed the food at Marina Kitchen, additional charges for room service and the quality of the grab-and-go options felt a bit lacking.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel’s amenities were decent, but the extra fees for services that should be complimentary really diminished my overall satisfaction.
